Services for Juanita Molly Husband Blue, 99, of Ardmore were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 4 at Marietta’s First Baptist Church, with Pastor Tommy Higle officiating.

Interment followed in the Leon Cemetery.

Born September 30, 1911 in Leon, the daughter of Harvey and Anna Mae Whittington Husband, she was the oldest of five loving siblings. Mrs. Blue, also known as “Mammaw” to her granddaughters and their friends, passed away to be with the Lord on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Ardmore’s Mercy Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Blue was a resident of Love County all of her life except the last eight years, when she decided to move to Ardmore to be closer to her granddaughter, Vicki Harris-Quinby.

Juanita married M.B. (Beeler) Blue on June 10, 1931. They were married for 62 years. She was a member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church and the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class. Even though she was unable to attend church the past few years, her Sunday School Class always remembered with cards and poems for her birthday and at holidays. Juanita’s life revolved around taking care of her family. She spent her life as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and she will be dearly missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Beeler Blue; daughter, Jeannine Barrick; infant daughter Jeanita; brothers, Adolphus and Fred Husband; sisters-in-law, Berniece Townsend and Elva St. Clair; and sons-in-law, Roy A. Harris and Woody Scott.

Survivors include granddaughter and husband, Vicki and Gary Quinby of Ardmore; granddaughter Lee Ann Harris of Los Angeles, California; sister and brother-in-law, Lawanna and Johnny Hall of Jimtown; brother and sister-in-law, Estel and Jean Husband of Arlington, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Serving as bearers were Gary Quinby, Scott McBride, Johnny Hall, Larry Hicks, Lynn Puckett and Alvin Baker. Honorary bearers were Kenny McBride, Gary McBride, June St. Clair, Larry Scott, Gary Don Scott and Mike Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marietta’s First Baptist Church, Mary-Martha Class, P.O. Box 302, Marietta, OK 73448.
