Graveside services for Willie Frances Bearden, 93, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 in the Leon Cemetery with services conducted by her son Rocky Bearden.
Born November 15, 1922 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Willard Washington “Will” and Alice F. Johnson Stricklind, she died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Bearden had also worked at the Marietta Cookie Factory as well as being a caregiver for individuals in the community. She had a strong faith in God and loved caring for others. Although previously living in California, Willie had been a resident of Love County most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Stacy Hendon; parents; four sisters, Thelma Coker, Blanche Dean, Bertha Harris, and Essie Reed; and three brothers, Carroll Stricklind, Ed Stricklind, and Silas “Buster” Stricklind, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include two sons, Rocky Bearden of Marietta and Ricky Bearden of California; two grandchildren, Siera Scott and husband Chad of Marietta and Derick Bearden and wife Cassandra of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
