Services for Natasha Machelle “Tasha” Whittington, 34, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, in the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Marietta with Lawrence Anderson officiating.

Interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born February 13, 1982 in Ada, the daughter of Terry and Linda Sue Hughes Brown, she died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence. At the time of her death, Tasha was employed as a research marketer for Wells Gaming. She and Jesse Whittington were married in Woodbine, Texas on July 14, 2001.

A graduate of Thackerville High School, Tasha was a happy-go-lucky individual who loved to tease people and was always on the go. She will be remembered as a leader. Tasha was baptized one year ago and was a very active member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Linda Sue Hughes; her Memaw, Gloria Jean Hughes; and her father, Terry Brown.

Survivor include her husband, Jesse of the home; two sons, Nathan Hughes of Marietta and Mason Whittington of Lone Grove; four daughters, HaiLee Whittington, Hayven Whittington, Nevaeh Whittington, and Justice Riley, all of Lone Grove; brother, Robert Brow of Ardmore; Pa Pa, Austin Hughes of Marietta; grandmother, Joyce Parrott of Ardmore; two aunts, Brenda Peery and husband, Herschel, and Amy Payne of Marietta; uncle, Robert Hughes and wife Gina, also of Marietta; and a grandson, Ryder on the way.

Serving as pallbearers were Alex Hudson, James Gore, David Wilkinson, Michael Whittington, Tim Milo, and James Henry. Honorary bearers were Herschel Peery, Brandon Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Robert Brown.
