Visitation for Betty Walker, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at Lakeview Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. David Smith.

Betty Jean Hyden Walker was born January 18, 1927 in Floyd, Texas, the daughter of Roy and Rosa Mae Landrum Hyden. She married J.C. Sheppard and following his death she married George Walker in 1970, who preceded her in death in 2005. Mrs. Walker worked for Robertson’s Hams in Marietta until retirement.

Following the death of her husband, she moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas to be near her sons. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Trentham (Red) Hyden and Billy Lawrence Hyden; and a sister, Fannie Virginia Causey. In 2006 Mrs. Walker received Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and she was truly a new person in Christ.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, J.C. (Jeff) Sheppard and Mickey Joe and Carolyn Sheppard, all of Hot Springs; grandchildren Brian Moss, Jill Boudreaux and husband Louis, Sarah Sheppard and Christa M. Sheppard; great-granddaughter, Elliot Robin Boudreaux; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Elaine Hyden of Tyler, Texas; sisters-in-law, Gladys Hyden of Greenville, Texas and Jean Hyden of Arlington, Texas; brother-in-law, C.L. Causey of Caddo Mills, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers include staff of Quapaw Nursing & Rehab and Health Care Odyssey Hospice.
