Born September 22, 1935, at Enville, Mr. Vinson died February 11, 1996, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. He was the son of Charlie E. and Myrtle Willis Vinson.
A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Vinson had owned and operated Bill’s Sinclair Service Station in Marietta for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon and an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Vinson was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Love County Search and Rescue Team, and a member and chief of the Enville Volunteer Fire Department. He married Pamela Campbell April 19, 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pamela Vinson of the home at Enville; three sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Vinson and Levi Vinson of Dallas, Texas, and Luke and Tracy Vinson of Marietta; a brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Mary Vinson of Enville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ed Arington of Amarillo, Texas, and Nila and William Kirk of Pasadena, Texas; and three grandsons, Jeremiah Vinson, Zachary Vinson and Jacob Vinson.
Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Opal Vinson Mott.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Manning, Derrie Minyard, Bill Bell, Bob Mullinax, Bo Dailey, Dannie Minyard and Randy Nelson. Honorary bearers were Dub Bell, James Gwin, Marvin Wade, George Clifton, Bobby Michael and Claude Brannan.
