Born May 12, 1930 at Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Hugh, Daniel and Ida Hill Jones, she died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City.
Betty and Alfred M. “Dock” Tipton were
married in Marietta on September 14, 1943, and he preceded her in
death on May 17, 1997. A very devoted homemaker, Betty loved
visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed being on the go,
and the couple loved to travel and camp throughout the United States
and also shop at flea markets and garage sales. When her children
were in school, Betty always served as a homeroom mother and
assisted with the Parent-Teacher Association. She was also a very
special “Aunt Betty” to all of her nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her
husband; parents; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Jodie Jones;
sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Virgil Dill; and son-in-law,
J.D. Brewer.
Survivors include her son, Alfred Tipton and wife Brenda of Marietta; two daughters, Cherri Wilson and husband Troy and Jan Reddell, all of Marietta; seven grandchildren, Tina Brewer, Shelly Nowicki and husband Matt, Jason Tipton and wife Jessica, Johnie Dewbre and husband Michael, Randall Brodie and wife Christie, Bryan Wilson and wife Meagan, and Vance Wilson and wife Maggie; 17 great-great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as casket bearers were Bryan Wilson, Vance Wilson, Michael Dewbre, Randall Brodie, Jason Tipton, C.K. Kelly, and Caleb Ford.
