Virginia Teague of Thackerville, OK, was born February 24, 1932, in
Marietta, OK, the daughter of Wadie Franklin and Artie Fay Edwards
Rains. She passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, in Mercy Health Love
County, Marietta, at the age of 79. A homemaker, Mrs. Teague had been a
resident of Thackerville since 1965, previously making her home in
Gainesville, TX.
She and Obie Lee Teague were married in Gainesville on September 2,
1950, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2008. A May 1950 graduate
of Thackerville High School, Mrs. Teague was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of Thackerville. Her hobbies included activities
at the Thackerville Senior Citizens Center, playing bingo and other
board games.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;
sister, Jane Lake; and three brothers, M.C. Rains, Russell Rains and
Jerry Dan Rains.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lavonna
and John Castleman of Thackerville; two brothers and sister-in-law,
James "Snookie" and Helen Rains and Jessie Wayne Rains, all of
Thackerville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Judy and Ray Elliott of
Marietta and Syble Hollar of Thackerville; two granddaughters, Callie
McCage and husband Cody of Thackerville and Jenny Jones and husband Joe
of Atoka, OK; five great-grandchildren, Maci, Jaci, Ashton, Jaxon Sloan
and Presley; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as casket bearers will be nephews, Gary Rains, Roy Rains, Ricky
Rains, Brian Rains, Tim Rains and Chad Rains. Honorary bearers are
ladies of the Thackerville Senior Citizens Center.
