Graveside services for Juanita Gale Stevens of Burneyville were conducting Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery.  Officiating was Rev. Tommy Higle.

Mrs. Stevens was born June 9, 1923, at Valley View, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Ethel Hudspeth Gale, and died May 27, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 75. Mrs. Stevens had lived in Love County most of her life and was a retired apartment manager.  She served in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II.  Mrs. Stevens was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Marietta where she served as vice president.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Barry Backlund of Hemet, California; a half brother, George Parker of Sulphur; a stepsister, Ruby Stevens of Marietta; a half sister, Marie McCool of Madera, California; grandson and granddaughter, Ian Backlund and Courtney Backlund; and a longtime friend, David Simon.

Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of services. 

Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
