Graveside services for Barney Gene Stalter, 67, of Marietta, were held
at 3 p.m., Friday, December 2 in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with the
Rev. Jerry Turner officiating.
Born October 9, 1949, in Italy, Texas, the son of Coy "Jack" and Ruby
Joyce Cooper Stalter, he died Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Mercy
Health Love County Hospital, Marietta.
A resident of Love County since 2002, he had previously made his home in
Dallas. Throughout his career he had been employed as a manager at
several companies, including an insurance agency, two banks and several
grocery stores. He and the former Linda Harper were married in Dallas in
1985, and she preceded him in death in 2002. Barney loved raising horses
on the family ranch. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was also preceded in death by his father and sister, Brenda Joyce
Stalter.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby J. Stalter of the home; sister,
Jackie Simmons and husband Ronald of Kingwood, Texas; and several
nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
