Graveside services for Marvin C. Skaggs were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta’s First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Skaggs was born July 9, 1921, at DeQueen, Arkansas, and died October 2, 1994, in the Veterans Center, Ardmore, at the age of 73.

He was the son of L.S. and Loney Kirksey Skaggs. A resident of Love County since the age of three, Mr. Skaggs was a farmer and rancher. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Skaggs was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Walter Skaggs of Sulphur; and two sisters, Gracie Bolds and Leacy Johnson of Marietta. Arrangements were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
