Mrs. Shipman was born March 7, 1903, in Connerville and died January 15, 1993, in an Ardmore hospital. She was the daughter of Samuel and Florence Sanders Renick.
A resident of Love County for many years, Mrs. Shipman had lived in Ardmore for the past 11 years. She was married to Lee Shipman on November 23, 1924, in Love County. Mrs. Shipman was a member of the Church of Christ and the Love County Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Laverne Morris of Ardmore and Louise White of Norman; a son, Lynn Shipman of Texas; a brother, Alvis Renick of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shipman was preceded in death by her husband in 1958 and a son, Loyd.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Hitt, Kevin Hitt, Michael Beard, Donald Jackson, Burl Bone, and Harold Lynn Morris.
