On August 25, 2001 he and Celestine Mapp were married in Lone Grove, and the couple had made that their home for the past 18 years. Bob was a member of the Lone Grove First Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Joyce Mae Harris Sharp on July 17, 1991; and brother, Joe Sharp on October 27, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Celestine Mapp Sharp of the home; six children, Bobby Sharp and wife LuAnn of Marietta, Robyn Hodges and husband Todd of Decatur, Texas, Roy Rowland and wife Regina, Mark Mapp and wife DeAnna, and David Mapp, all of Lone Grove, and Kim McMahon and husband David of Ardmore; four sisters, Marylee Vinson of Lone Grove, Vanona Sue Birdsall and husband Richard of Ardmore, Geneva Moore and husband John of Whitesboro, Texas, and Wilberta Robbins of Grand Junction, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Serving as casket bearers were Zach Sharp, Jake Hodges, Tom Thompson, Mike Sharp, Todd Hodges, and Roy Rowland. Honorary bearer was Wendel Wallace.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street Northwest, Ardmore, OK 73401.
