Graveside services for Jose Cruz Sanchez, 60, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21 at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta with Father Oby Zunmas officiating.

Born May 3, 1960 at Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Juan and Rosa Andrade Sanchez, he died Monday, November 16, 2020 at his residence. Cruz grew up in Mexico, moved to Chilton, Texas at the age of 18 and became a resident of Marietta in 1981.

He married Inez Fernandez at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Marietta. Cruz worked at the Cookie Factory as a machine operator for 35+ years and then worked as a grinder at Dragon Products in Springer. Cruz was a hard worker and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed singing and going to horse races and rodeos. Cruz loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Cruz was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jose Pepo Sanchez.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Sanchez of the home; sons, Luciano Sanchez and Junior Sanchez, both of Marietta; daughters, Debbie Sanchez and Claudia Sanchez, both of Marietta; brothers, Sammy Sanchez, Roberto Sanchez and Feliciano Sanchez, all of Marietta, and Juan Sanchez of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Bertha Gomez and Estella Sanchez, both of Marietta; and grandchildren, Lily Coronado, Aiden Denney, Dominik Sanchez, Isabella Sanchez, Haivyn Greenwood, and Eliessia Sanchez.

Serving as pallbearers were Edgar Sanchez, Oscar Gomez, Luciano Sanchez, Junior Sanchez, Eric Gomez, and Aaron Denney.
