Joe Pierce Rowe was born April 3, 1938, at Leon, OK, the son of Vernon Clarence Rowe, Sr. and Lois Lee Bassinger Rowe.

He passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his home in Marietta at the age of 74.

A resident of Love County all of his life, Joe graduated from Leon High School. He and Joyce Marie Hilton were married at Leon on August 30, 1969, and she preceded him in death on July 23, 2011.  Joe worked inventory control at Weber Aircraft, Gainesville, TX, retiring after 37 years of employment. He was an avid OU basketball and football fan and also was involved in activities at the Ardmore YMCA. A long-time member of the Church of Christ, Joe had recently placed membership with the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ in Ardmore.

 In addition to his wife, Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a brother, V.C. Rowe, Jr., of Aledo, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Delorah and Bonnie L. Carroll of San Antonio, TX; and nieces and nephews, Barry and Jennifer Carroll of Phoenix, AZ, Paul Vernon Carroll of San Antonio, Darrell and Sheryl Rowe of Aledo, Lana Hodges-Root and Steve Root of Garland, TX, Farrell and Sally Rowe of Austin, TX, Tommy and Nancy Rowe of Aledo and Renea and Scott Cartwright of Fort Worth, TX. Serving as bearers will be Darrell Rowe, Farrell Rowe, Tom Rowe, Barry Carroll, George Tarr and Brent Tarr. Honorary bearers are V.C. Rose, Bonnie Carroll and Duane Hicks.
