Services for Margie Lou Hughes-Roskam, 61, of Ardmore were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 in the Eastside Baptist Church of Marietta, with Steve Skinner officiating assisted by Mike Sampson.

Interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born March 21, 1957 at Marietta, the daughter of Winston “Buddy” and Christine Robinson Hughes, she died Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Mercy Hospital Ardmore.

Margie attended Marietta Schools and on March 23, 2012 she and Gerald “Jerry” Roskam were married in Ardmore. She worked as a housekeeper in other people’s homes. Previous employment included as a waitress at the Red Rooster, worked at Mac’s Wholesale, and the Marietta Cookie Factory. Margie loved to cook and bake, especially cakes. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching the weather, and going to garage sales. Margie also enjoyed the company of her dogs, “Minnie” and “Kelsey.”

Preceding her in death were her father; sister, Mary Ruth; and two brothers, Johnny Lee Hughes and Winston “Dumpy” Hughes.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; mother, Christine Hughes of Marietta; brother, Eddie Wayne Hughes and wife Jennifer of Hulbert; three sisters, Sherry Whitmore and Neda Wilson and husband Dana, all of Marietta, and Christy Gaines and husband Willy of Madill; sister-in-law, LaDonna Hughes of Healdton; stepchildren, Jerry Roskam and wife Mika of Ardmore, Jason Odom and wife Summer of New Braunfels, Texas, Joe Roskam and wife Stephanie of St. Louis, and Justin VanBuskirk and wife Megan of Bel Air, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Kaylee, Blake, Cooper, Brooklynn, Ragan, Jaxon and Johnathan; special friends, Christy Daube and Caroline Owen; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Jerry Roskam, Cooper Roskam, Blake Roskam, Chase Cavitt, Chance Cavitt, and Billy Bob Burrell. Honorary bearers were Jeff Peery, Adam Hughes, Eddie Hughes, Jr., Eric Hughes, and Richard Cain.
