C.A. Robinson was born November 28, 1945, in Addington Bend,
Thackerville, OK, the son of Bertha Mae (Bond) Roberts and Cletus A.
Robinson. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Medical
City Hospital in Denton, TX at the age of 79.
A lifelong resident of Love County, C.A. attended Thackerville school
and Greenville High School, Class of 1965. C.A. saw a picture of a
beautiful homecoming queen candidate for Marietta in the Marietta
Monitor and he told his friends that he was going to marry that girl
and he did. He married the love of his life Twana McMillin on October 8,
1966, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Enville, OK. The couple made
their home in Marietta where they raised their two children Melonie and
Chad. Later the moved back to the Enville Community where they have
resided for the past 33 years. C.A. worked at the Marietta Cookie Shop,
Weber Aircraft, and Robertson's Ham before he and Twana opened the
Marietta Day Care in 1989 till present. Oh, how he loved kids - not only
his own. He was the most amazing husband, daddy, and Pop in the whole
world. He loved Jesus, Nana, his family, friends, and everyone he met.
C.A. never met a stranger. Pop never missed a cheer competition, dance
recital, basketball game, livestock show or anything his kids or
grandkids were involved in.
C.A. had a love for sports, if he wasn't playing basketball at the old
gym, he was coaching the youth of Love County in optimist football,
Lions Club, or the church softball league. Basketball was his passion;
he could pull up at half court and make that shot every time. He had to
get his great-granddaughter, Maecan, a basketball goal this Christmas
and made us promise we would teach her to play. C.A. was Love County's
biggest OU fan, even though he would say I don't think they're gonna win
today and he would go outside and weed eat. If they ended up winning, he
couldn't wait to rub it in on Sunday morning at church to the ones who
didn't root for OU.
C.A. served many years on the board of the Enville Fire Department, he
was also a city councilman in Marietta. He started his ministry at the
Enville Community Church driving the church van and picking up children
all over Love County and bringing them to church. He became the Sunday
School Superintendent for many years and is a Deacon at the Enville
Church.
C.A. enjoyed fishing, whether it was by himself or taking the kids and
grandkids. He loved taking us all to his favorite fishing spots and
telling stories of the one he caught and the big ones that got away. He
loved going on family vacations, whether it was to Branson, Mo, Destin,
FL, or just anywhere the family was going so we could all be together.
C.A. loved being at the daycare, it was never really a job to him, it
was just loving and entertaining kids. If you passed by the daycare on a
pretty day he would be playing ball with the kids, sitting under the big
shade tree singing silly songs, or aggravating the staff.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his stepfather, Taylor
Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Twana Robinson of the
home; daughter, Melonie Beane and husband Brad of Ardmore, OK; son, Chad
Robinson and wife Courtnie of Enville; grandchildren, Maegan Hale and
husband Colby of Lone Grove, OK, Blakelie Rainbow and husband Jackson of
Sherman, TX, Case Robinson and fiancée Kimberlin Gordon, and Bransen
Robinson and Makala Futrell all of Enville; and two
great-granddaughters, Maecan Reese Hale and Lanie Joe Robinson-Futrell.
