Betty Robertson, 74, of Marietta was born March 19, 1943, to Mattie and Vernon Teafatiller in Gilroy, California. She passed from this life on Thursday, January 11, 2018.

Betty accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 1962 soon after she and Clay were married. She was always so proud that she was a stay at home mom, proud to be an integral part of her children’s lives. Once all of them were in school, she worked part time as a bookkeeper for Robertson’s Hams. Her pride and joy was that she developed the recipe for the cookies the store has sold for the past 28 years. Her favorite was the coconut pecan. She retired after several years and enjoyed being a part of the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty always believed Sunday dinner should be special. Her fried chicken Sunday dinner, Catherine Fannin’s recipe for hot rolls and Norene Choate’s recipe for beef brisket will truly be missed. She loved to have people in her home to enjoy a meal whether just a few or a large group. Just ask Tommy Higle. He would call her and invite the entire Sunday school class over for dinner. But that was alright with Betty, Tommy was more like a brother than her pastor. For years she would serve the church in whatever capacity they needed. She was a Sunday school teacher for both young and old, taught Gas, served wherever, whenever she was needed. She took great pride in the ministry she and her friend, Virginia Higle started for the church. They tried to visit as many babies as possible that were born in Love County. For 15 years during these visits, she got to do some of her favorite things: hold babies, visit with her friend and make new friends. Friends were very important to her. For several years she would exercise with Linda Russell and Linda Martin, but it was much more about the friendships and fellowship than the exercise. She even enjoyed going to the dentist to talk cars with her friend Brook Edmonds. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with her special lifelong friend that she loved very much, Glenita Franklin.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mattie Cook Teafatiller; sisters, Geraldine Dristle and Wanda Leslie; and brothers, Ed Teafatiller, Orville Teafatiller, Limuel Teafatiller, Milton Teafatiller, and William “Bill” Teafatiller.

Survivors include her husband, Clay Bonner Robertson of the home; daughters, Susan Kay Robertson of Arlington, Texas and Leslie Ann Weddige and husband Karl of Lubbock, Texas; sons, Rob Bret Robertson and wife Brenda of Burneyville and Michael Clay Robertson and wife Crystal of Ardmore; brother, Robert Teafatiller; grandchildren, April Tarter, Bret Robertson, Russell Robertson, Dillon May, Abby Paschall, Molly Paschall, Sydney Robertson, Porter Robertson, and Hap Elizabeth Robertson; and great-grandchildren, Dalton May, Aubrey May, and Penelope Tarter.

Serving as pallbearers were Willis Choate, Joe Pete Martin, Bryan Thompson, King Martin, Tommy Higle, and Jerry McGill.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 15 at the First Baptist Church of Marietta with Pastor Jason Langley and Lawrence Anderson officiating.

Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Baptist Home for Girls, 13976 Anthony Lane, Madill OK 73446.

Clay Bonner Robertson, lifelong resident of Marietta, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Gainesville, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma, with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Clay will be laid to rest beside his family during a private interment service at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.

Clay began his earthly journey on August 23, 1943, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the son of Victor Bryce “Tup” Robertson and Wanda Jo (Cline) Robertson. A lifelong resident of Love County, Clay devoted much of his life to the family business, Robertson’s Hams, where he began working at an early age. For many years, he worked faithfully alongside his father until his retirement, helping build not only a successful business but also a lasting legacy within the community. Robertson’s Hams was a tremendous source of pride and joy to Clay, and he took great satisfaction in the many ways the business served and contributed to the people of Marietta throughout the years.

There were many things in Clay’s life that brought him genuine joy: the freedom of the outdoors, time spent on his land, hours on his tractors, and working alongside family in the family business. Yet beyond these simple pleasures were the deeper passions that defined the man he was — helping those in need, caring for the less fortunate, giving generously with an open hand, and loving others with a sincere and compassionate heart. Above all else, his greatest devotion was to his family. Clay’s kindness, servant’s heart, and passion for life were firmly rooted in his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In every interaction, whether through words or quiet example, Clay’s deepest desire was that others would come to know the hope and love found in a relationship with Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and the mother of his children, Betty Jean Robertson; a daughter, Susan Kay Butterfield; and a son, Michael Clay Robertson.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanna Robertson; son, Rob Robertson and wife Brenda; daughter, Leslie Weddige and husband Karl; daughter-in-law, Crystal Robertson; stepdaughters, Audra Langston and husband Jason, and Mary Neely and husband Jarrod. Clay is also survived by his sister, Vicki Lowe, his sister-in-law, LaWanna Reed and husband Tim; his grandchildren, April Tarter and husband Jeremy, Bret Robertson and wife Tara, Russell Robertson and wife KayLyn, Dillon May and wife Lacey, Konner Weddige and wife Brittany, Klair Stowers and husband Cole, Abby Paschall, Molly Paschall, Kreg Weddige and wife Carly, Sydney Robertson, Porter Robertson, and Hap Robertson; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Aubrey, Penelope, Kayleigh, Kora, Cheyenne, Taven, Drake, and Brooks; step-grandchildren, Cameron and wife Haley, Chloe, Carrigan, and Lila; and step-great-granddaughter, Eloise.

Additionally, his cousin, Joy Jane Murphy, who became not only a special part of his childhood but a lifelong friend as well. Together they shared countless cherished memories that remained close to his heart throughout his days on this earth.

His presence, wisdom, quiet strength, and faithful example will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

The family has asked that those who wish to honor Clay’s memory through donation, please remember the Baptist Home for Girls in Madill, OK.
