Norma Gayle Riley, 70, loving parent, grandparent and friend, died on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Gayle was born on December 31, 1950 in Marietta to M.C. and Mildred S. McBride Rains.

Gayle spent all her life in Marietta and was a graduate of the Marietta High School Class of 1969. She married her one true love, J. Paul Riley on June 20, 1969 in Marietta. Gayle was the former owner of the Flower Box and Just Burgers in Marietta. She had a love for flowers and the beauty they displayed, especially roses. After retiring from the flower shop, Gayle took great pride in being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta. Gayle loved being outside walking and tending to her vegetable garden. Paul figured out early on in their 52 years of marriage that she was the happiest when she was fishing. Gayle had many activities that brought her joy, but perhaps the thing she loved the most was spending time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren.

Those left to carry on her memory are her loving husband, Paul Riley of the home; sons, Dewayne Riley and wife Cami and John T. Riley and wife Ashley, all of Marietta; brother, Brian Rains and wife Shelly of Lindsay, Texas; sisters, Donna Hilton and husband Charles of Marietta and Barbara Diggs and husband Mike of Broken Arrow; and grandchildren, Robert Riley, Karley Riley, Timberlee Riley, Kenzie Kish, and Cameron Hobbs.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Mildred Rains and a sister, Linda Cross.

Services for Gayle were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 5 in the Marietta First Baptist Church with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Casket bearers were John Choate, Kevin Cassels, John Cole, Cody Minyard, Chris Del Torto, and Kyle Hayes. Honorary bearers were Cameron Hobbs, Glenn McCurtain, Terry Minyard, Charlie Garner, Boyd Donaldson, Jim and Shirley Ray, the Adult 2 Connection Group Class, and members of the Marietta First Baptist Church.
