Graveside services for Edwin Cleo Rasor, 78, of Kingston, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 8 in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta with Bro. Les McGalliard officiating.

Born October 16, 1932, in Love County, the son of Elton and Amanda Kerr Rasor, he died Sunday, September 4, 2011, in Atrium Medical Center, Corinth, Texas.

A 1950 graduate of Marietta High School, Mr. Rasor served as president of his senior class and was on the football team. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Rasor was the owner/operator of Tel-R Industries, a mobile communications business. He had made his home at Kingston for the past five years. Mr. Rasor was known for his “big heart” and always wanting to help others. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, gardening and watching sports. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clealan Rasor and Richard Rasor.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Lynn and Lisa Rasor of Bartonville, Texas and Edwin Christopher Rasor of Roanoke, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy Kathleen and Jeremy VanZee, also of Roanoke; mother of his children, LaGloria Cortez Rasor of Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Elaine Rasor of Tishomingo; a sister, Patricia Eggleston of Marietta; and five grandchildren, Cameron Rasor, Ryan Rasor, Spencer Rasor, Lauren VanZee and Megan VanZee.
