Services for Lynn Pool, 81, of Marietta, were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, with Dr. Glen Pool officiating.

Mr. Pool was born January 24, 1922, at Oswalt, the son of Jay C. and Maude Knight Pool. He died Saturday, September 27, 2003, in Southbrook Healthcare Facility, Ardmore. A resident of Love County most of his life, he was married to Vera Givens, and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1968. Mr. Pool was a farmer/rancher, who worked hard all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving three years with the 472nd Division of the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. Mr. Pool was a loving son to his parents, and was very loved by his brothers and sisters, as well as everyone who knew him. He was a member of the Bowles Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Ben “Pete” Pool of Oklahoma City; one sister, Hazel Simmons of Ardmore; four nieces, and two nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Sam Barrick, Duane Hicks, Elray Coyle, Frank McKay, Ted Freeman and Scott Coyle. Honorary bearers were Raymond Coyle, Dr. Vergil Smith and Dr. Tom O’Connor.

Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
