Mrs. Patton was born November 3, 1934, in Love County, the daughter of Calvin C. and Maggie L. Cain Martindale. She died Wednesday, August 20, 2003, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
She had been a resident of Love County for 22 years. Mrs. Patton was a homemaker.
She and Don Cox were married in Oklahoma City, on July 23, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1997. She then married Bill Patton on December 10, 2000, in Marietta.
Mrs. Patton was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Patton of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Donna Ballard of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Stan and LaDanna Cox of Marietta; four daughters and sons-in-law, Laveda Sharp of California, Debbie and Hubert Davis of Marietta, Patty Hall of Ardmore, Twilla and Mark Lockner of Shawnee; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Val and Kitte Dean of Caddo, Owen and Alexis Dean of Jones, and Victor and Sandi Martindale of Amarillo, Texas; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Lou Alice and James Dennis, Inez and Jim O’Dell, Nita and Jerry Johnson, all of Amarillo, Catharine Deweese of Oklahoma City, Judy Martindale of Houston, and Kassie and Marvin Hensley of Lehigh; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Patton was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Noland Dean and L.C. “Pete” Martindale; two sisters, Gertrude Dean and Liza Rae Fowler; sister-in-law, Jeanie Dean; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny Deweese and Bob Dean.
Serving as pallbearers were Barry Hurst, Jarrod Cox, Charlie Hughes, Brian Liddell, Carroll Davis and Mike Cox. Honorary pallbearers were James Dennis, Jim O’Dell, Anthony Wood and Don Hurst.
Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
