WILSON LITTLE FUNERAL HOME
PURCELL-NEWCASTLE, MCCLAIN CO, OK
(PERMISSION GRANTED)

Johnny “Glen” Nimmo, SR., age 74 of Purcell, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020.

He was born February 12, 1945 in Childress, TX to A.C. and Trudy (Riley) Nimmo. As a young man, Glen developed a very good work ethic. He worked sun up to sun down nearly every day of his life. In fact, some might say he was a true workaholic, and at 72 years old he could still work circles around most people half his age. He was a self-made man: a true entrepreneur, a smart-minded business man. Throughout the years, he owned and operated three local businesses; Hi-Test, Nimmo’s Auto Parts and Supply, and Nimmo’s Scrap Metal & Recycling. He was known by many as the “Scrap Daddy”. He served on both the Lexington and Purcell City Councils, and the Lexington School Board. Glen’s personality was big; his laugh was loud and boisterous; you just couldn’t help but love him.   On the rare occasion he wasn’t working, Glen followed his sense of adventure. He enjoyed many outdoor activities and spending time with family at his lake house. He loved taking his grandkids out for a spin in his “fast” boat. If you have ever been pulled behind his boat on an inner tube, you know exactly how much fun he always had on the water. He was an easy-going man, so whether he was snow skiing in the mountains or sticking his toes in the sand on a beach somewhere beautiful, he was happy! As much as he loved his family time, he also enjoyed “working hard for the money,” as he would say in his best Texas twang. Glen battled dementia the last few years of his life, and true to his character he fought it hard right up to the very end. He was a wonderful and fun-loving father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and good friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by:

          His father, A.C. Nimmo and ½ brother, Eugene Smith.

Glen leaves behind:

His mother, Trudy Frederick;

          His brother, Jerrel Nimmo;

His children and grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Wilson-Little Chapel.

Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. at the Lake View Cemetery near Marietta. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com
