Services for Cordia L. Murphy, 81, were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Howard officiating.

Born November 2, 1911, at Eastman, the daughter of T.O. and Melvina Fox Lang, Mrs. Murphy died January 11, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta.

A resident of Marietta most of her life, Mrs. Murphy retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after more than 20 years of service. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cherry and Jay Westmoreland of Marietta; three sisters, Trudy Faulkenberry and Verda Bone of Marietta, and Argie Whitehead of Gainesville, Texas; for grandchildren, Michael, Deborah, Lynn and Sandy; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Lang, Truman Brown, McClain Lang, Kenneth Richey, Lindon Faulkenberry, and Harvey Stewart.
