Johnny is my 2nd cousin. He was born with crippling arthritis, supposedly due to Agent Orange when his father served in 'Nam.

Johnny Brent Montgomery was born February 22, 1965, in Ardmore, OK, the son of Carlin Jane Walker Montgomery and Jerry Paul Montgomery. He passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at his residence in the Greenville Community at the age of 47. 
 
A 1983 graduate of Frost High School, Brent spent most of his life in Texas and returned to Love County to make his home in 2011. He earned an associate degree in Accounting from Cooke County College, owned and operated Montgomery Tax Service in addition to being a department manager for WalMart. Brent volunteered at the Ardmore VA Center and also prepared tax returns for family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting model cars, camping and working with his service dog and companion, Cowgirl. 
 
Brent will be remembered for his dedication to his family, especially his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

His mother, Carlin Jane Walker Gorden preceded him in death on December 27, 2010.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jerry Paul and Susan Montgomery of Overbrook, OK; grandfather, Calvin Montgomery of Marietta; daughter Shelby Montgomery of Spring, TX; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, JP and Roxanne Montgomery of Fort Worth, TX, Eddie and Jessie Montgomery of Boyd, TX, Patrick "Skeeter" and Kimmy Gorden of Mildred, TX, Allen and Terri George of Oklahoma City, OK, Casey George of Overbrook, and Jeff Montgomery and Jesse Montgomery, also of Oklahoma City; sister, Lisa Burton of Tishomingo, OK; 18 nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and nephews. 
 
Serving as casket bearers will be his brothers, JP Montgomery, Patrick "Skeeter" Gorden, Allen George and Casey George, and nephews Clay Montgomery and Chaz Benavides. Honorary bearers will be his other nephews and lifelong friend, James Smith.
