MARIETTA Services for former Marietta resident, Hazel Maxine Montgomery, 87, Prague, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Flanagan-Watts Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin and the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.

Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
 
Born on October 13, 1919, in Bomar, OK to Samuel "Sammie" Newton and Nellie Mae Williams Overstreet, she passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007, at a health care facility in Prague.

She was preceded in death by her husband on September 3, 1990; her parents; an infant brother, Alvin Leon Overstreet; sister, Jewel Couser; grandson, Gary Keith Hicks II; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Montgomery attended Thackerville High School and attended Cameron College in Lawton, OK. On March 3, 1946, she married Melvin Charles Montgomery, son of J.E. and Inez Wilson Montgomery. The couple owned and operated Montgomery Store in the Abner community from 1955 to 1975. Mrs. Montgomery also worked at the Little Brownie Bakers (aka the Cookie Shop) in Marietta for 22 years as a floor supervisor. In addition, she was a volunteer at Marietta's First Baptist Church, Lake Country Nursing Center and Love County election board.
 
She loved to paint and was active doing water aerobics at the Y in Ardmore. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Montgomery moved to Ardmore and lived at Ardmore Village a number of years before moving to Oklahoma City to be near her daughters. She had been a resident of Parkland Manor Nursing Center since May 2006. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church.
 
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Sue and Gary Bloomer, Seminole, and Martha Nell and Terry Reddout, Oklahoma City; four grandsons, Randy and Kim Bloomer, Salado, TX, Lance and Susan Bloomer, Seminole, Charles "Chuck" Reddout, Edmond, Chris and Amber Reddout, Yukon; granddaughter Connie and husband Richard Yeager, Enid; granddaughter-in-law, Ann Hicks, Tecumseh; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jake Bloomer, Salado, Elijah and Isaac Bloomer, Seminole, Lexie Green, Yukon, Terra and Cody Yeager, Enid, Kristin Hicks, Seminole, Bethany Hicks, Tecumseh, and Tyler Keith Hicks, Lone Grove; great-great-grandson, Taylor Yeager, Enid. She was blessed to be survived by two sisters, Marie Smithwick Reed, Marietta, and Inez Brashear, Greenville; brother-in-law, Calvin Montgomery, Marietta; sister-in-law, Marge Langford, Ardmore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Bearers will be grandsons, Randy Bloomer, Lance Bloomer, Charles Reddout, Chris Reddout, Richard Yeager and Cody Yeager.
