Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Born December 14, 1990 at Ardmore, the daughter of Dottie Gwin and Kevin Lynn Birks, she died Saturday, February 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.
Chrissy was raised in Marietta where she grew up and graduated with the class of 2009. Following high school, she obtained an LPN certificate from Southern Oklahoma Technology Center and in 2016 graduated from East Central University with a bachelor of science in nursing. Chrissy completed her education in the spring of 2019 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she was awarded a master of science in nursing.
On March 1, 2018, Chrissy married the love of her life, Stacy Marris, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Chrissy had a passion for helping others and brought joy to everyone whose lives she touched. She was full of life with a smile that could light up ay room. Chrissy had great joy and love for her family and friends. She was a member of the Enville Community Church.
Chrissy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Catherine Gwin, and paternal grandmother, Donna Birks.
Survivors include her husband, Stacy Marris of the home; mother, Dottie Gwin of Marietta; father, Kevin Birks, also of Marietta; sister, Alesha Birks of Durant; paternal grandfather, Don Birks of Enville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and godchildren, Caiden, Caisten, and CaMille McCarroll, and Aubrey Ellane Bowen who referred to her as “CiCi.”
Assisting as casket bearers were Weston Birks, Nolan Birks, Nathan Segler, Tanner Bowen, Cecil McCarroll, and KorDale Lornes. Honorary bearers were Jasmarie McCarroll, Tanica “Chocolate Sis” Anderson, Rachel Testerman, Alise Barker, and the fifth-floor staff of Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ardmore Animal Shelter or Cross Timbers Hospice.
