Services for Gloria Mae Lemons, 76, of Marietta were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19 in the Christ Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Marietta with Pastor Ronnie Carroll officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born February 22, 1925 at Cornish, the daughter of Richard and Lula Mae "Sis" Evans Underwood, she died Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her residence.

Gloria was a graduate of the Ringling High School Class of 1963. She continued her education at Murray State College. In the summer of 1963, she relocated to Marietta. She married the love of her life Wesley Dearl Lemons on April 17, 1965 in Marietta. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2005. Gloria worked for the Pants Factory, Little Brownie Company, and for Love County Health before retiring after 28 years with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) in 2005. She was a member of the Christ Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. Gloria loved attending church, assisting with fundraisers, and attending her grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed shopping, antiquing, playing on the computer, and Facebooking. Although Gloria had many interests, her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Aaron Underwood, Johnny Underwood, and Billy Underwood; and two sisters, Wynell Stewart and Emma Lou Elkins.

Survivors include her two sons, Tracy Lemons and Jason Lemons, both of Marietta; sister, Bell Paul of Ardmore; and two grandchildren, Gunnar Lemons and Jaylee Jentry Lemons, both of Marietta.

Serving as pallbearers were David Lemons, Danny Henley, Billy Price, Caleb Carroll, Tyler Berryhill, Ethan Lyles, and Bryson Culwell. Honorary bearers were former Marietta ODOT employees.
