Born March 22, 1897, in Loves Valley, Indian Territory, Mrs. Leeper died September 29, 1994, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. She was the daughter of Sidney J. and Dora Clark Tipton. A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Leeper joined the Methodist Episcopal Church South at the age of nine and had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta since the rolls from the Loves Valley Methodist Church were moved over 50 years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group and the Eastern Star for many years.
She and George B. Leeper were married December 10, 1914, in Loves Valley, and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1972.
Survivors include a son, George Truman Leeper of Prescott, Arizona; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clark and Eloise Tipton of Marietta and S.J. and Kathryn Tipton of Longview, Texas; a sister, Eunice Benton of Idalou, Texas; a sister-in-law, Edna Leeper Nunley; a brother-in-law, George Nunley; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Leeper was preceded in death by four sisters.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were L.E. Washburn, Jimmy Dixon, Bobby Michael, Allen Burns, Jack Tow and I.V. Knowles. Honorary bearers included Leonard Rice, M.D. Hale, Roger Willard, Warren Griffin and Aubry Barber.
