Services for Bertha C. Hobson were Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Anderson-Kennedy Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Voss serving as the officiating minister.

Mrs. Hobson died July 24, 1993, at the Ballard Nursing Center in Ada at the age of 90. The daughter of O.C. and Fannie Mae Myers Brush, Mrs. Hobson was born November 9, 1902 in Love County, Indian Territory.

Mrs. Hobson had lived most of her life in Love County before moving to Ada in 1989. She was married to J. Cecil Hobson on December 24, 1926 and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1975.

She was employed as a Welfare Case Worker with the Department of Human Services before her retirement. Mrs. Hobson was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.

Survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, J.C. Hobson of Houston, Texas and Bob and Willema Hobson of Ada; two brothers, Cleo Brush of Thackerville and Pender Brush of Albany, Texas; three sisters, Lorene Mitchusson and Dessie Strickland of Thackerville and Inez Wiggins of Purcell; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
