He was also preceded in
death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
During his lifetime he was a loving and caring person to his family,
friends, anyone who worked for him and every stranger he met. Throughout
his life he worked for the CC Corps during World War II, the railroad
and had a skating rink in Marietta. Woody was also a paint contractor
and builder in both Oklahoma and Texas. He also had a passion for
cooking and was co-owner of the WW Grill in Sanger, Texas. Woody could
often be found cooking juicy hamburgers at many concession stands
wherever friends and family needed him. Woody had been a member of the
Golden Triangle riding club since the early sixties. He held many
offices at the Club, District and the Association level. He made many
friends through the Riding Club Association who are still very special
to his family!
Woody has two daughters, Chris Shults and husband, Jerry of Roanoke,
Texas and Donna Watson and husband, Ray of Emory, Texas; three step
children, Tony and Amanda Black of Whitehouse, Texas, Vickie and Gary
Hoskinson of Klondike and Larry and Vicky Black of Oregon; four
grandchildren, Shane Leonard, Michelle Vaughan, Michael Watson and Jimmy
Overbeck; 11 step grandchildren; two sisters, Betty McCullers and
husband, Dave of Ardmore, OK and Pat Conley and husband, Dick of
Kingston, OK; a brother, Tex Hill of Allen, TX; four
great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Rhalyn Watson and Kylynn and Jacob
Overbeck; and 11 step great-grandchildren.
Serving as bearers will be Shane Leonard, Jimmy Overbeck, Michael
Watson, Sam Barrick, Chris Vaughan, and David Wayne McCullers. Honorary
bearers are Bud Hill and Jim Hill.
