Services for Jay Imogene Terrill Hill, 99, of Marietta were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 20 at the Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta with great-grandsons Rev. Shane Norton and Rev. Griff Servati officiating.

Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born April 26, 1911 at Lou King, the daughter of William Henry and Tillie Druscilla Harrison Terrill, she died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.

A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Hill attended school at Shady Dale and Marietta. On January 11, 1928, she married the love of her life, James Conrad Hill. The couple was chosen as Pioneer Queen and King for Love County in 1989. She retired from the Marietta School System after working 27 years in the lunchroom. Mrs. Hill was known for her hot rolls and award winning cinnamon rolls. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting, playing dominoes and her church. Mrs. Hill had been a member of the Loves Valley Homemakers. She was a faithful member of the Eastside Baptist Church where she taught the Primary Class for many years, sang in the choir, served as Church Clerk for 35 years, taught Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends and never met a stranger.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, James, on January 4, 1995; three sisters, Coleynne Baker, Vida Ruth Simmons and Elizabeth Norcross; two brothers, W.H. Terrill and Frank Lee Terrill; and a son-in-law, Robert H. Campbell.

Survivors include her daughter, Rozelle Campbell of Marietta; a son, Jimmy Terrill Hill and wife, Sue of Ardmore; a daughter, La Juana Sue Handschin and husband, Danny of Lafayette, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Barbara Ann Norton and husband, Ronnie of Marietta, Deborah Lynn Campbell and husband, Jud Deaner of Schwetzingen, Germany, Jim Bob Campbell and wife, Tabby of Marietta, Tiffani Michelle Hill and husband, Rob of Lewisville, Texas, Holli Leigh Anthony and husband, Chris of Shawnee, Staci Suzanne Reynolds and husband, Jimmy of Edmond, Daniel James Handschin and wife, Sandra of Leesville, South Carolina, Gina Roseann Davidson and husband, John of Maurice, Louisiana, and Jason Paul Handschin and wife, Jennifer of Broussard, Louisiana; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristi Servati and husband, Griff of Van Alstyne, Texas, Robert Shane Norton and wife, Amy of Marietta, Ariel Deaner of Chicago, Illinois, Aaron Rudd and wife, Jenny of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Telina Rudd of Marietta, Wesley Peters and Joshua Peters of Lewisville, Tristin Anthony of Shawnee, Bailey and Berkley Reynolds of Edmond, Barret Davidson of Maurice, Troy Efthemes and Zack Efthemes of Leesville, and Katlyn Derouen and Keegan Handschin of Broussard; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Raigan, Kerrigan, Jaidan and Kailan Servati, Abby Grace, Reese and Meleah Norto9n, and Ethan, Ava and Miles Rudd; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo McCullers and husband, David of Ardmore and Patsy Sue Conley and husband, Dick of Kingston; and a brother-in-law, Huck Hill of Allen, Texas.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jim Bob Campbell, Daniel Handschin, Jason Handschin, Ronnie Norton, Jud Deaner, Rob Hill, Chris Anthony, Jimmy Reynolds and John Davidson. Honorary bearers were her great-grandsons, Aaron Rudd, Wesley Peters, Joshua Peters, Tristin Anthony, Barret Davidson, Troy Efthemes, Zack Efthemes, Robert Shane Norton, Griff Servati and Keegan Handschin; nephews, Billy Clifford Hill, Tommy Freeman, Tim McCullers, David Wayne McCullers, Sam Barrick, Billy Norcross and Parker Terrill; and Dr. Tom O’Connor.
