Services for Carl Dean Hill, 81, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 22 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta with Gary Stephens officiating.

Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born July 15, 1939 at Wewoka, the son of Fred William and Effie Frances Burton Hill, he died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Ardmore. Carl was a lifelong area resident. He was a long-haul truck driver. Carl married his valentine, Betty Jean Roper on February 14, 1990 in Marietta. He enjoyed driving his truck and spending time fishing. Carl was a member of the Marietta Assembly of God. Many things brought him joy and happiness, but the one thing he loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sons, Chuck Howard, Ronald Howard, and Terry Howard; and brothers, Bill Hill, Richard Hill, and Ray Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Hill of the home; children, Linda Howard of Marietta, Norma Herndon of Gainesville, Texas, Sam Howard of Marietta, Daniel Howard of the home, Mike Howard and wife Robin of Marietta, Don Howard of Marietta, Jack Howard and wife Rhonda of Marietta, Raymond Hill of Tahlequah, Darla Hill of Berry, Kansas, and Steve Mathews and wife Jennifer of Marietta; sisters, Jackie Norris of Gainesville and Clara Hill; 35 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Greg Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Nathan Schneider, Triston Garcia, James McEllen, and Dallas Sparks. Honorary bearers were children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
