Ada Bess Hill was born in the Loves Valley community of Love County on April 19, 1932, the daughter of Beady and Elizabeth Michael Presley. She passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 85.

A graduate of Marietta High School, Ada Bess had been a resident of Love County all of her life. She married William D. "Bud" Hill in Madill, OK on March 7, 1952, and the couple established a home in Marietta. Ada Bess worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1950 to 1963. Then, as a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church, she worked as the church secretary for 50 years retiring in 2013. In addition, Ada Bess was employed as Clerk for the City of Marietta for 12 years, 1966 to 1978. A very caring individual, she was a caregiver to many as well as her own family and always put others first. Ada Bess enjoyed cooking for Bud and her family and, likewise, made sure that the breakroom at church was supplied with homemade sweets each day. Also, those acquainted with Ada Bess knew how meticulous she was about her home. It must always be very neat and tidy. Ada Bess was very involved in community activities but also enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips with her sisters and the senior adults of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold Presley, Murray Presley, and Beady Presley, Jr.; four sisters, Dorotha Sifford, JoNell Stribling, Judy Smith, and Shirley Foster; granddaughter, Addey Beth McGill; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Hill.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bud of the home; son, Paul Hill of Owasso, OK; daughter, Scotty Beth Phelps and husband Billy of Sulphur, OK; four grandchildren, Tracy Paul Hill of Stockton, CA, Ashton Reed and husband Kyle of Marietta, Austin McGill and wife Bailey of Thackerville, OK and Garrett Hill of Tulsa, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Alliee, Aidenn, and Bexley McGill.

Serving as casket bearers are Austin McGill, Kyle Reed, Randy Johnson, Herbie Hays, Corey Johnson, Dalton Bone, and Jason Sampley. Honorary bearers are Bill Dvorak, Joe Pete Martin, the Deborah Sunday School Class, and the MHS Class of 1950.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Baptist Home for Girls, 13976 Anthony Lane - Madill, OK 73446.

A keepsake video is available through the funeral home.
