She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Major Ledford
L ‘Jimmy’ Hicks, USAF; her parents Virginia Carolina Thompson and
Harry L. Tooker and two brothers, Harry L. Tooker II and Guy W.
Tooker.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by a daughter, Kaye H. Hopkins and
husband, Clint of Mt. Vernon, Texas and son, James L. Hicks and
wife, Sharon of Friendswood, Texas; seven grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hicks was a dedicated servant of the Lord and used her talents to serve her family and others. At the time of her death she was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas. She was an accomplished seamstress and floral designer. The many moves during her husband’s military career were always smoothly accomplished ‘home’ was quickly restored.
Visitation will be Friday, September 5 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta. Mrs. Hicks grew up in Marietta and the surrounding area.
A
graveside service will be held Saturday, September 6 at 10 a.m. at
Lakeview Cemetery. Services will be conducted by a special friend,
Michael Cawthon, minister of the Northside Church of Christ in
Carthage, Texas.
