Graveside services for Billy Wayne Hartman, 71, of Wilson were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11 at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. Born July 13, 1944, at Burneyville, the son of the late Gayther Brug and Mildred Faye Hays Hartman, he died Friday, July 8, 2016, at Wilson.
 
Bill was raised in Burneyville, attending school at Turner and Leon, graduating from Leon High School in 1963. After high school, he moved to Midland, Texas where he worked in the oilfield as a roughneck. Later he returned to this area and began a 17-year career with Ratliff Drilling of Duncan as a tool pusher. After his oilfield career, Bill became and over-the-road truck driver for J.B. Hunt. He was employed there for 29 years and recently had been awarded his three million mile safety award. Bill loved country music and enjoyed his time off being at home riding his tractor. He was of the Baptist faith.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Gayther Hays Hartman, Jackie "Utah" Hartman, G.B. Hartman, Daril Hartman and Leonard Dean Hartman.
 
 Survivors include his wife Freida Sue Lawson Hartman of the home; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicki Embry and Jim Moore of Thackerville; nephew and niece, Mike and Tori Zinno and baby niece Zoe Zinno of Yukon; sisters, Joann Watterson of Lone Grove and Rose Miller of Kilgore, Texas; brothers, Johnny Hartman of Burneyville and Donal Ray Hartman; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
