Nita Sue Hambrick was born on November 7, 1937, in Waurika, OK to J.D. and Bonnie (Turner) Hanna. She passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at an Ardmore, OK nursing facility at the age of 86.

Sue attended Ringling Elementary School from kindergarten through third grade, Claypool School from fourth through eighth grade, and then graduated from Marietta High School in 1955. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Oklahoma A&M in 1959 and later received her master's degree in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She eventually retired from her role as an educator after many years working for our local schools. Sue then became an active member of the Love County Retired Teachers Association. In her spare time, she would work side by side with her loving husband in the horse industry.

Sue married Randall Joe Hambrick in Marietta on February 14, 1959. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1999.

She loved gardening and being outside and took a lot of pride in decorating her home for the holidays. What brought her the most joy was running around with her best friend Helen Woody getting into whatever mischief they could. She was an active member of the Marietta Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother and sister-in-law, J. Dan and Marie Hanna.

Those left to carry on Sue's legacy are her son, Greg Hambrick and wife Jenny of Marietta; grandchildren, Ashley Hambrick of Marietta and Jamie Maples and husband J.P. of Latta, OK; great-grandchildren, Daxon and Maizey Maples; nieces, Dianna Crawley and husband Lee of The Woodlands, TX, Kary Richards of Tomball, TX, and Pam Edwards and husband Greg of Wimberley, TX; and special sisters, Helen Woody and husband Allen of Marietta, Irene Ledbetter of Ardmore, and Loonita McGehee of Marietta.

Funeral services for Sue will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Marietta Church of Christ, 305 South 3rd Avenue, Marietta, with Chase Green officiating and Finley Morgan assisting.

Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 13 at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta.

Serving as casket bearers will be Allen Woody, Zack King, Derek Hallum, Ky Frazier, Clancy Hallum and Todd Hicks. Honorary casket bearers will be David Brunt, Joe Davis, Lynn Puckett, John Cartwright, Brad Randell, and Mike Hallum.
