Services for Addie Imogene Greenwood, 87, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, at Marietta’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating.

Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born May 24, 1920 at Enville, the daughter of John and Belle Mae Willis McAnally, she died Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Mercy Health Love County Hospital.

A resident of Love county all of her life, Mrs. Greenwood was a homemaker and also helped on the farm. She and Denzil David Greenwood were married August 28, 1937 in Marietta, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1995. Mrs. Greenwood sewed, quilted and enjoyed watching birds. Also an avid walker, she walked every day that she felt like it. Mrs. Greenwood had been a member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church for many years and loved her church family and church activities. Very family-oriented, she loved being with her family more than anything.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John David and Marjorie Greenwood, Lindel Ray and Sheila Greenwood and Jimmy Van and Martha Greenwood, all of Marietta; two daughters and son-in-law, Lila Epperson and Wanda and Tim Sandefur of Marietta; a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Howard Smith of Big Spring, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lola Keel; and two infant brothers.

Pallbearers were Franklin Epperson, Ricky Beavers, Jeff Greenwood, Mark Greenwood, Pat Greenwood, Lin Greenwood, James Greenwood and Greg Greenwood. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom O’Connor and Dr. Vergil Smith.
