Virginia Louise "Ginnie" Evans

VIRGINIA L. "GINNIE" EVANS
Services for Virginia L. “Ginnie” Evans, 89, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 16 in Marietta’s First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Higle officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Born June 29, 1920 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Louise Douglas Goodman, she died Friday, March 12, 2010 in Southbrook Healthcare Facility, Ardmore.
A resident of Love County for the past 41 years, Mrs. Evans was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Centralia High School in 1937 and was a telephone operator until her marriage to C.B. Evans, Jr. On December 11, 1940 in St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.
Her hobbies included fishing, RV’ing and writing poetry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Meredith R. Evans on September 18, 2001.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Monty J. And Vickie Evans of Henrico, North Carolina; her daughter, Kay Dunnavent of Ardmore; daughter-in-law, Pat Evans of Greenville; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Reagan Evans, Rick Evans, Chase Evans, Jerry Dunnavent, Cal Blackwell and Mark Segler. Honorary bearers were the Winsome Sunday School Class.
This obituary included a picture of Mrs. Evans.
