Last Rites Held For Paul Egbert
 
Funeral rites for Hubert Paul Egbert were held Wednesday after noon at 2:00 o'clock in the Goodrich Funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Lee Bassett, Baptist minister officiating.
 
Mr. Egbert died Monday night February 1, at the home of his step-father, A.B. Holbrook, of self-inflicted wounds.
 
He was born on January 3, 1916, in Gainesville, Texas, and had made his home in Marietta for a number of years. In October 1942, he joined the United States Army air corps with which he served as a corporal in the European Theatre of War. He was honorably discharged on September 26, 1945.
 
In 1936 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Lemay and they were the parents of one son, Donald Egbert. In 1940, he and Miss Maxine Hutto were married and they were the parents of three sons, Calvin, Roger and Gary.
 
Survivors include the four sons, Donald, Calvin, Roger and Gary; his step-father, A.B. Holbrook of Marietta; two sisters, Mrs. Exoma Moore of Weatherford, Texas and Mrs. Helen Porter of Fort Worth, Texas.
 
Burial in Lakeview cemetery was under the direction of the Goodrich Funeral home with the following serving as casket bearers: Alfred Norris, Murrel Thacker, Joe Williams, Johnny Hood, Don Vaughn and Albert Norris.
