Interment followed in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Born January 16, 1939 in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of Johnnie Edward and Vida Ruth Terrill Simmons, she died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
Betty Sue and Billy Gene Dvorak were married in Purcell on December 23, 1954, and in 1957 she graduated from Marietta High School. Betty Sue was a real people person and attended all school reunions. She and Bill were the owners and operators of the Ole Coffee House in Marietta and Razzle Dazzle Department Store in Ardmore. A very active member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church, she attended the Ladies Bible Study Class. Betty Sue was also a past president of the Apache Study Club. She was an excellent housekeeper and cook, loved movies and following activities of actresses and actors, playing bridge, dancing, and country music as well as religious music. She was also quite an Elvis Presley fan. And last, but certainly not least, she loved her dog and companion “Molly.”
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John Derrick Dvorak.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of the home; son, William Lance Dvorak and fiancée Patricia Wilson of Ardmore; two daughters, Kim Ritchey and husband Wendall of Ardmore and Sally Dvorak and fiancé Gary Morgan of Thackerville; six grandchildren, Amy Bray and husband Bryan, Will Trisciani, Rebecka Harris and husband Cory, Preston Dvorak, Roger Montrose and wife Laura, and Eric Montrose and wife Melanie; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers were Joe Martin, Jim Michael, Dick Michael, Tommy Higle, Bud Barnes, and Eric Gallaway. Honorary bearers were Kermit McKinney, James Segler, Carl Gragg, Paul Riley, Charles Garner, Abby Grace Norton, Reese Norton, Meleah Norton, and Campbell Norton.
Memorial donations may be made in Betty Sue’s name to the Baptist Home for Girls, 13976 Anthony Lane, Madill, OK 73446.
