Services for Grace B. Drennan of Marietta were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28 in the First Christian Church, with Rev. Tommy Higle officiating.

Interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery.

Born June 26, 1917 in Texarkana, Arkansas, the daughter of Barney and Blanche Oscenbein Ward, Mrs. Drennan passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta at the age of 92.

Mrs. Drennan graduated high school in Joplin, Missouri. While living in Joplin she met and married Jack C. Drennan, Sr. on October 4, 1936, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1987.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Ardmore to make their home. A beautician, Mrs. Drennan operated The Lady Fair Beauty Salon in Ardmore until moving in 1961 to the Ward Ranch in Marietta, her home until December 2005 when she became a resident of The Lodge in Ardmore. Mr. and Mrs. Drennan also owned the Snack Bar at Marietta Sportswear for a number of years. Mrs. Drennan was a member of the Eastern Star and also the “Golden Girls” who dined at Denim’s every Wednesday evening. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren, painting, playing bingo and visiting with family and friends. Mrs. Drennan was a member of First Christian Church of Ardmore and then Marietta’s First Christian Church where she was very active in the building of the new church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Bryan Drennan on March 18, 2001.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Drennan, Jr. and wife Ann of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Michael and husband Dick also of Marietta; grandchildren, Blake Michael and wife Rhonda of Ardmore, Sherry Maxwell and husband Kevin of Ada, Dustin Michael and wife Jodi of Marietta, and Katy Kustos of Madill; and great-grandchildren MaKenzie Michael, Conner Michael, Tanner Cain, Ramsey Maxwell, Nellie Drennan, Rope Freeman, Levi Michael, River Pierce and Madilynn Grace Michael.

Serving as bearers were Jerry Dutsch, Phillip McGinnis, Rod Shankles, Sam Knight, Charles Hudson and Jim Michael. Honorary bearers were Anna Ruth Sheid and the staff and employees of The Lodge at Ardmore Village.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Home for Girls at Madill c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 east Main Street, Marietta, Oklahoma 73448.
