Maggie Lee Davis

Services for Maggie Lee Davis, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ of Marietta. Officiating were Ray Hillard and Floyd Johnson.
Born February 8, 1907, in Montague County, Texas. Mrs. Davis died February 9, 1998 in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, Texas, at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Marion and Margaret Harris Bone.
A resident of Love County most of her life, she married Forest Norton "Slim" Davis at County Line on September 23, 1923. Mrs. Davis was a housewife and a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Troy Davis and Ray Davis of Marietta, and Bill Davis of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Maudine Springs of Gainesville and Janette Shaw of Canyon, Texas; a brother, Sid Bone of Marietta; a sister, Rose Wilkins of Antlers; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband on March 23, 1962; and six brothers.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Grandsons served as casket bearers.
The family has requested that donations be made to the Tipton Children's House of Tipton.
