Born January 6, 1952 at Enville, the son of William Earl and Alvah May Thompson-Cornelison, he died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home in Dickson.
Mr. Cornelison spent most of his childhood years in Brownwood, Texas where he was raised and attended schools. He returned to Oklahoma in the 1970’s where he would later meet Phyllis Hackworth. The two were married on June 17, 1994 in Mannsville. David worked as an estimator and in quality control for a fiberglass company. In his spare time, he loved golfing and watching OU Sooners football. He spent countless hours in the garden and tending to his trees and home. Over the years, David coached several of his children’s sports teams and truly enjoyed the time he spent with family, He developed a love for dancing and for antagonizing his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Richard, Kenneth, Robert, Jack, and Alvie; sister Eula Chambers; and grandson Tayson.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home; two sons, David Cornelison and spouse Jennifer of Farmington, New Mexico and Brad Martin-King and spouse Heath of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Brandy Paine and spouse Chris of Sanger, Texas and Melissa Martin of Dickson; brother W.E. Cornelison of Temple, Texas; six grandchildren, Meagan, Cameron, Bralynn, Jade, Dylan, and Alyssa; and four great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Scott Mayes, Daniel Parker, Frank Carter, Kelly Norris, Bralynn Culp, and Cameron Cressman. Honorary bearers were Heath King and Chris Paine. Online guest book: wattsfuneralhome.com
