Born April 19, 1932 at Bennington, the son of Oran Ray and Ethel Forman Carroll, he died Monday, December 26, 2016 in OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City.
Archie had been a resident of Love County since 1962. He and the former Wanda Jo Hunt were married in McKinney, Texas on December 26, 2000. Archie served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and then was an electronics engineer for 36 years, He enjoyed living in the Lake Murray area where he could boat, ski, and ride four-wheelers. Archie also loved traveling, dancing, playing 42, and reading, especially his Bible. He was a member of the Powell Church of Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Sue Carroll Hunter.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Jo Carroll of the home; two sons, Ben Carroll and wife Deanna of Granbury, Texas and Len Carroll of Marietta; daughter Gwen Carroll Carter and husband Billy of Shady Shores Texas; brother Ray Carroll and wife Marlene of Atoka; six grandchildren, Oran Ben Carroll II, Bradley Carroll, J.C. Talman, Tyler Talman, Aaron Simon, and Andra Corder; and 10 great-grandchildren.Serving as pallbearers were all of his grandchildren.
