Mr. Carriker was born June 6, 1896, at Eastman, Indian Territory, and died August 11, 1991, in the Ardmore Veterans Center at the age of 95. He was the son of William C. and Johnny Viola Shipman Carriker.
Raised in Love County, Mr. Carriker had made his home in Ardmore since 1951 moving there from Cooke County, Texas. He served in the Army during World War I and was a retired roughneck and construction worker. Mr. Carriker was of the Pentecostal belief.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Carriker of Ardmore; a son, Virgil Carriker of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Thaynoma Mabry of Oakdale, California, and Violet Castro of Gainesville, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law served as pallbearers.
