Mrs. Brannan was born November 15, 1919, in Ardmore, the daughter of Claude C and Thelma Henderson Thomas. She died Saturday, February 21, 2004, in Elmbrook Nursing Home, Ardmore.
A homemaker, Mrs. Brannan had been a resident of Love County since 1950. She and Jack Cloyce Brannan were married August 18, 1950, in Dallas, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1996. A graduate of Oklahoma A&M College, Stillwater, Mrs. Brannan taught at Murray State College in Tishomingo during World War II. During her career she also worked at Duke & Ayers and Colvert’s Dairy in Ardmore. After working at Samedan for a short time, she became the personal secretary for Lloyd Noble until his death in 1950. Mrs. Brannan was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marietta.
Survivors include a son, Tom Brannan of Marietta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brannan was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, C.C. Thomas, Sherwood L. Thomas and William H. Thomas.
Pallbearers were Larry Martin, Larry Rhodes, Wayne Bond, Larry Thomas, Don Rhodes and Lonnie Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Bob McClain, Stewart Bachman Jr., Mike Thomas, Claude Brannan, Bob Brannan, David Thomas, Bill Brannan and Rick Brannan.
Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
