Barbara Sue Bond, 79-year-old longtime Marietta resident passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta. Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21 in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating.

Barbara began this life on April 14, 1943, in rural Love County, the daughter of Roy and Leota Mobley Sparks. After graduating high school, she married Leslie Wayne Bond on April 14, 1961, in Durant. The two were inseparable for 59 years until Wayne passed away in September of 2020.

Barbara worked for Michelin for 26 years until her retirement. After retirement, she began her career as Wayne's "hired hand". She ran errands and helped him manage the day-to-day operations of the farm and ranch. When she wasn't running for the ranch, you might catch her in her garden or on a mission to catch a nearby garage sale. Barbara also worked for a few years at the Marietta Pharmacy when things slowed down a little bit at the ranch. She and Wayne were longtime members of the Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Leota; husband, Wayne; daughter, Kimila "Kim" Behrens; and brothers, Butch Sparks, Jim Sparks, Ray Sparks, Leroy Sparks, and Danny Joe Sparks.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Timothy Wayne Bond and wife Diane of Marietta; son-in-law, Ronnie Behrens of Madill; sister, Marie Floyd of Marietta; brother-in-law, Ronny Bond and wife Georgia of Ardmore; three grandchildren, J.J. Gray and wife Brandi, Kyla Selvy and husband Chad, and Veronica Clement and husband Scott; five great-grandchildren; and longtime friends, Bernice Quisenberry and Cookie Hayes.

Honorary casket bearers were Richard Quisenberry, Rick Brannan, Terry Minyard, Don Bennett, Richard Barker, Mike Buxton, and Bob Brannan.

The family suggests those wishing to leave a memorial donation remember the Eastside Baptist Church or the Lake Country Nursing Center. They also wish to give a special "thank you" to the staff at Lake Country Nursing Center and to Elara Hospice.
