A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Bloomer
graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1954.
He served in the U.S. Air Force four years and with the National Guard
20 years. Mr. Bloomer was a barber in Marietta for many years and was
also employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and
maintenance. He and Alice Power were married September 17, 1998, at
Falconhead. Mr. Bloomer was involved in community activities as a member
of the Jaycees and the Love County Frontier Days and supported area
youth sports. His hobbies included woodworking, cooking, playing the
slots and spending time with family, especially grandchildren. He was a
member of Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Desey Bloomer;
and sons, Danny Bloomer and Jimmy Hartman.
He is survived by his wife,
Alice Bloomer of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Donna
Hartman of Wilson, OK; three daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Mark
Amos of Whitesboro, TX, Darla Bloomer of Norman, OK, and Melissa Howard
of Denton, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Chiquita and E.L. Morton of
Marietta; eight grandchildren, Logan Amos, Noah Amos, Echo Rudd, Lindsey
Culwell, Michael Culwell, Justin Lance, Brittley Hartman and Logan
Hartman; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.
Serving as bearers will be Mark Amos, Noah Amos, Jackie Hartman, Logan
Hartman, Mike Morton, Dustin Davis, Michael Culwell and Justin Lance.
Honorary bearers are Bobby Brown, David Jacobs, Billy Bob Cross, Eddie
Sampson, Dr. Tom O'Connor and Dr. Larry Powell.
