Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta. Arrangements were directed by Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

Born June 21, 1920, in Woodbine, Texas, the daughter of John Edward and Mary Shelby McDaniels Thurman, she died Sunday, October 16, 2005, at the Senior Care Health and Rehab, Denton, Texas.

A resident of Marietta for 25 years before moving to Gainesville five years ago, Mrs. Bell graduated from Enville High School.

She and Ralph A. Bell were married August 4, 1941, at Marietta, and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1996.

Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and also worked as a dietary aide at the Love County Health Center in Marietta. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivor include a son, Ralph E. “Buzz” Bell of Gainesville; a daughter, Sandra K. Sides of Aubrey, Texas; four grandchildren, Matt Sides, Chad Bell, Stacey Holland and Shelly Schon; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher Holland, Blake Holland, Jacob Holland, Stephanie Sides, Lanie Rae Griffin and Morgan Griffin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; and seven brothers.

Pallbearers were family members.
