Services for Autry Mae Lang Bearden, 85, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2 in the Marietta Church of Christ with Bro. Les McGalliard officiating, assisted by Bro. Travis Huffman.

Interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.

Born January 30, 1927, at Eastman, the daughter of John Claud and Tennie Pearl Adcock Lang, she died Monday, January 30, 2012, at her residence in Marietta.

Mrs. Bearden had been a resident of Love County all of her life, attending school at Meadowbrook, graduating from Greenville High School and attending one semester at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant.

She and Woodrow Wilson Bearden were married in Marietta on February 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1995.

Mrs. Bearden had worked as a beautician/cosmetologist for more than 50 years, owning and operating Autry Mae’s Beauty Shop in Marietta. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bearden was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Oral, Delbert and Velton Lang; and three sisters, Essie Marie Lang, Mildred Harris and Verna Kerbo.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Linda Bearden Grantham of Marietta and Nancy Bearden Barrick and husband, Vernon of Falconhead, Burneyville; a brother and sister-in-law, James “Caesar” and Alda Lang of Marietta; two sisters and brother-in-law, Loonita McGehee of Marietta and Wanda and Butch Shellenberger of Ardmore; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were her nephews, Darrel McGehee, Rodney Lang, Henry Van Wye, Jason Newell, Mike Lang and Scott Lang. Honorary bearers were Dr. Tom O’Connor, Floyd Johnson, the staff of Good Healthcare, the faculty of the Dialysis Ranch and the men of the Marietta Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ Building  Fund or the Tipton Home.
